Obituary of Kathy Ann Russell

Kathy Ann Russell 1953-2021 Kathy Ann Russell, 68, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Friday, November 5, 2021. She was born January 19, 1953 in St. Joseph to Jack and Katherine (Sturm)Scott. She worked at Mead Products in production for 15 years. Kathy loved spending time with her family, singing, playing guitar and listening to music. She recorded a record as “Rebecca Ashley” with the songs “Fire Me” and “Crazy” which were songs she sang at Gilley’s in Nashville in her early singing career. Kathy had been an extra in the movie “Paper Moon” as well. She enjoyed camping in the Colorado mountains, playing house and games with her grandchildren, tending all her plants and flowers. She also collected Elvis Presley memorabilia, and loved watching scary movies and spooking her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Jack Scott II. Survivors include her children, Rick Russell, Teresa Russell-Woosley (Drew), and Chasen Russell (Courtney), Megan Gazarek (Scotty); grandchildren, Denziel Russell (Rebecca), Jordan Woosley (Atleigh), Kiazer Russell(Heather), Kalen Russell (Jocelyn), Bela Russell, Willow Russell, Sephora Hedge, and Chasen Russell II (C.J.); siblings, Terri Scott, Gail Bodde (Paul)and Tim Veraguth. She also has several nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be 1:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at the Amazonia Community Building, 410 Hackberry Street, Amazonia, MO 64421.
